Jaxon!

Jaxon West Clay- that's the little guy you see here. He is a riot-  just 1/2 year old and he is ready to go mobile (even though horse foals walk within 24 hours)
He is impressive. Very bright and agile.

Graduation!

Jesse & Josh had a joint graduation party at our ranch recently. Amazing. Just yesterday- Jesse was 3 and had a spike haircut and cowboy boots. He is such a great kid. Both him and Josh have hardly ever been a moment's trouble. (that might be a slight exaggeration in Jesse's case, I recall the Great Water Balloon Incident of 2002).
Both are off to Bible College- wow, time passes- but God is good!

Mike Macintosh

A good friend was in ABQ last week for a men's outreach. Mike Macintosh from Horizon in San Diego.
I have known Mike for about 30 years- and he has been a mentor and an inspiration.
It is said that when you hear some speakers, people say, 'My what a speaker!' But when you hear others,
you say, 'Let's march!' Mike is the later.

We also had  a classic car show. Mustangs (already have one) Corvettes (my sister had one, I drove it across the U.S., that cured me)
and Chargers! (always wanted one!)
but more importantly, Evan and John Wickham played, and lots of guys came forward.

Greg Laurie: Lost Boy

Here's a picture of Greg Laurie who has really adopted Levi and given him some terrific opportunities at Harvest and
Harvest Crusades.
My history with Harvest goes back to the Dark Ages. Just after I was saved in Hawaii, I was living at a Calvary Christian Commune called Shiloh in Honolulu. I was in a bit of culture lifestyle shock when we all went to the
Aloha Bowl for a Harvest Event. Pastor Chuck was there, along with music from Daniel Amos for sure, and I think Oden Fong and Mustard Seed Faith. DA was doing a revolutionary concept album, Shotgun Angel, unheard at that time.
This was one of the early versions of what would become Harvest Crusades. Little did I know...
A year later, I was living in So Cal, and helping start Calvary Southbay, one weekend I spent in Palm Springs and didn't go to a church on Sunday morning- driving home through Riverside, I remembered something about Greg, but did not know where or even if he had a PM service. I just randomly pulled off the 91 and followed a car with a Jesus sticker till I saw people carrying Bibles! Sure enough, they led to a Episcopal Church that Harvest was using. Pretty magical night. Sweet Comfort played and Greg preached it up.
Eventually, I would get to know Greg at Pastor's conferences,Crusades and serve with him on the CCABQ Board and on the Epicenter project.
Now, he is adopting Levi- that's fine, but he has grandchildren of his own!
The Lord is pretty amazing.

Disney!

The Mouse and Me

I first went to Disneyland in the spring of 1970. On spring break from Michigan, my parents took me to So Cal for the first time.
Little did I know........
Alone at 18, Disneyland was an interesting experience. I had grown up watching The Wonderful World of Disney every Sunday night.
When the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan at a  competing time, I would have rather watched the Swamp Fox on Disney. But this was well before Tivo and
my parents insisted on watching the Beatles. Lots of screaming, little music.

My next stop at Disneyland came in  about 1978, post- Christian salvation, and working at KBRT in Los Angeles, Disneyland was 25 and they closed th park for a media party.
This spoiled me.  A few thousand people in the Magic Kingdom, with free food and no lines. Wow.
All experiences in Anaheim pale beside that one. However, a recent trip with the Lusko Tribe comes close, Becca, Levi, Heidi and three great childrren really was a treat.
I avoided the dreaded Tea Cups like a plague! -

Another Disney high came in the mid 90s  when Harvest did a mini-Disney Crusade at the Park. The Kry came up on the Tommorrowland stage and Skip, Greg, Ricky Ryan and other preached
it up. I took Jesse Jeremiah, and we had a blast.

At various stages and ages, each Lusko child, Daniel, Levi, Becca and all made trips to So Cal with me from Colorado and New Mexico on various business excursions.
Reminds me of the time I took Levi to MGM in Vegas fot a convention.... but that's another blogstory.
