Israel's Dark Hour
Here is a link to last week's Wednesday night study at Calvary. Jesse does the call to worship, and for the time being, I get to teach the study. But the day is coming when roles will be reversed!
Calvary of Albuquerque Webcast - Israel's Dark Hour
The topic is idolatry in Ezekiel 8, a powerful and poignant section of scripture. The Lord wants Ezekiel to experience the depth of idolatry at the highest level of Israeli spiritual leadership. Corrupt to the core, Israel is doomed to captivity, but the hope of restoration always looms.
The sobering departure of God's Glory follows, in a reluctant sequence, the very Temple is deserted. A sad and serious warning for those who
would make the One True God anything less than He is. Whether it is Dagon or doctrinal idolatry, the end game is the same- degrading of God's image. Ultimately, He will not tolerate that.

Renovate Retreat
Spent three days in Wolf Creek, Colorado to speak at the Renovate Retreat.
Wolf Creek is an old school ski area. No condo's at the base, no t-shirt shops on Main Street and no east coast college graduates serving overpriced nacho's with an attitude. That to say, Wolf Creek is not Vail, Aspen or Telluride. The ski area is owned by the Pitcher family, always has been. They have resisted development and the area has not, well, developed. Nearby Pagosa Springs has not changed much in the 25+ years I have been coming here.
In the years I lived in Colorado Springs, I spent hundreds of ski days and nights in Breckenridge, Crested Butte and the glamour towns of Colorado. But Wolf Creek is always pleasant to come back to. Not stunning like Keystone or Beaver Creek, but, it is comfortable and never crowded.
We stayed at the Springs Resort, a real gem. The hot springs are on site, they are clean, well kept and fully developed, like 20 or so different hot tubs with natural water. A freezing river flows right by, the town surrounds the hot springs and it is perfect therapy after a day of snowboarding. I've been to hot springs near Steamboat and on the western slope, but these are outrageously excellent, and open 24/7 for hotel guests.
I taught three sessions on "Which way did he go?'' Finding the will of God
Session One: What God Intended, God's will for the world.
Session Two: What God wants for you
Session Three: He will build His church: Where God Works
Always a good sign: Welcome to Colorado

Flashback
This is Jesse & his bride in Lahaina, Maui on their honeymoon. The church behind him is the one I was saved at in 1977!
In fact, in the Eagles song 'Last Resort,' they include a reference to this church in the lyrics:
'You can give it all away,
Sail to Lahaina,
Just like the missionaries did, so very long ago.
They even brought a neon sign, Jesus is coming.'
Yes, He is.

Here's a link to prophecy update from 2005. Interesting to see how Iran was really starting to get attention. At the time it was a struggle to pronounce Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's name. We know who he is now.
Happy New Year, here is the link:Calvary of Albuquerque Webcast - New Year's Eve 2005
